Panoramic dental x rays are extremely versatile and fill many dentists diagnostic needs.

One of the most widely used dental x rays, panoramic dental x rays are a great overview of the jaw. They show the teeth from the crown to the tips of the roots. They show the relationship of the lower half of the skull’s bones to one another, including the jaw, spine and nasal cavities.

Panoramic dental x rays are considered a must by most doctors when planning implants or evaluating problems near existing implant sites. These x rays also are perfect for diagnosing abnormalities in bone growth, fractures and tumors. However, they do not find cavities in teeth.
