DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY

LATERAL CEPHALOMETRIC

The lateral cephalometric x ray view of the skull is taken from the side of the head while it is at the natural resting state. The patient looks straight forward without tilting the head up nor down. The result is a x ray that shows the relationship of the jaw, skull and spine.

This x ray is very common as a treatment planning tool. It is indispensable for diagnosing abnormal mandibular growth or other craniofacial abnormalities.
